About Us

Cecchi Homes. A better experience starts with us.

We are as passionate about customer service as we are about building, and since 2008 we have delivered the highest quality of both. Our promise is that you will never before have received our level of personal attention, connection, and satisfaction. We know this business, we love this business, and we’ve reimagined it in a way where the customer comes first, always.

G. John Cecchi founded Cecchi Homes in 2014 to fill a void he discovered in the construction business while redeveloping some of Washington, D.C.’s most historic, elegant homes. Personally involved with every project that we take on, John hand-picks each project’s assigned construction team and shares his personal experience and advice throughout each and every stage.

A native of the District, John is a second-generation real estate developer and began his career in 1996 working in customer service for his father, Watergate developer Giuseppe Cecchi, at the IDI Group.

In 2008, John launched the luxury home development division of the IDI Group, IDI Residential. John serves as managing director of the IDI Group along with two of his brothers, Enrico and Carlos.

John attended The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia, and graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio, with degrees in Economics and Latin American Studies and a minor in Art. As founder and chairman of The Trust for the National Mall’s L’Enfant Society, the young professionals arm of the Trust, John launched the Ball on the Mall benefit in 2008. More recently, John oversaw the design and development of the Rose Park Phase 2 Improvement Project in Georgetown, and he is a member of Washington D.C.'s Young President’s Organization (YPO).

John and Kristin live with their three children and Ruby, their Australian Labradoodle, in NW DC. Kristin acts as a marketing and design consultant to Cecchi Homes.
